My Memories

So I finally tried out the My Memories Digital Scrapbooking software I won over at Dreams and Drifters. It's pretty awesome I must say! I've been wanting to share these pictures with you since Philip sent them too me! You see, Phil took a kitten home and ever since they are in love <3 which I'm so thrilled about! I was so worried about him adapting to a new home, without his brothers and sisters, I begged and pleaded with Phil to take 2 kittens- that way they could keep each other company, but since he only lives in a apartment where pets are frowned upon he could only take one. They are so happy together, and watching him with the kitten warms my heart, it melts a bit every time he sends me a picture.

So this is how my first one turned out, I don't think it's so bad. Well goodnight blogland. Have a great weekend, I won't be blogging much this weekend because I'm spending it at my cousins. :)

31 weeks...9 to go

I can't believe I only have 9 weeks left... CRAZYNESS. He's getting so big now, I used to feel hard kicks, now I put my hand on my belly and I can feel his entire body move. this past week his movement has gotten more powerful, I can tell he's getting bigger. Currently, he's approx. 17 inches, and almost 4 pounds! It says now he's going to be growing 1/2 a pound every week!

My OB appointments are now every other week- and soon to be every week. My back pain is getting worse slowly creeping up my back now, and there are tiny feet that have been getting tangled in my ribs. So getting very painful, and sitting on a chair at work for 8 hours doesn't help. But anyways, nothing I can do about that.

On a side note, I would like to share with you my pregnancy resources through the months.

The book called "What to expect when you're expecting." Melissa bought me this book. It's great because it walks you through week by week, and all the symptoms and questions about pregnancy month by month. This book is always with me, it has kept me very informed.

Websites I signed up for:

"The Bump" This website is great, you can create you own profile, which can be linked to your registry, a pregnancy blog, you can upload any photos. There are tons of message boards from moms across the world with any questions or concerns you might have. But my favourite thing about this website, it it has a pregnancy checklist, everything you have to do each month, you can go in and update it everyday- believe me there are so many things we need to get ready for!

"BabyCenter" This website sent me an email every week with an update on my pregnancy, it provides a 3D calendar of what your baby will look like week to week. it also has tons of links to websites you can sign up for (free things ladies!) AND helps out with name picking :)

There are so many websites out there, they are all great, but these too have followed me during my pregnancy. Also "google" is a life saver, any questions or concerns, google it!

Well there are just some helpful resources I'd thought I would share! Have a good weekend everyone :)

Fashion Spotlight: Modcloth - 100th POST!

So I'm so excited to share that this is my 100th blog post! There should be a lot more, but I was a blog slacker in the past. Now however, I'm somewhat addicted. So I though I'd share with you this Fashion spotlight Modcloth of course! My friend Lauren's wedding is coming up and I'm in the market for a dress. Since I have some extra belly on me I am unable to fit into anything I own that is attractive enough to wear to a wedding.

So this weekend is the hunt. I'm spending the weekend at my wonderful cousin Ashley's. We have a scrapbooking crop on Saturday (totally geeked!) and then we will be shopping for a dress on Sunday (with a lunch at Olive Garden of course!) I can't wait. But I'm also terrified because I don't want to shop at a maternity store, I want to buy something that I might have some hope of wearing after my pregnancy. Well here are just some dresses that I fell in love with and the type of style I'm thinking of.

And! I also found this adorable clutch and a beautiful satin coat for a cold October evening!

I unfortunately will not be able to order these fabulous items, because the wedding is only 2 weeks away. So wish me luck this weekend!

Thanksgiving at Grandmas

So this Thanksgiving was a good one! I didn't end up making cabbage rolls (thank god) Did not have much time this weekend at all, I'm actually surprised I even finished the cupcakes- with no help from Philip. I don't think he likes baking, but it's my goal to have a baking day and actually have him help me at least ONCE! we'll see.

Well here is just a few snapshots from our beautiful Thanksgiving day, first the wonderful breakfast made by mom, and then a tasty dinner with family at gramas.

I'm so sad I didn't get a picture of our turkey dinner, I was too busy stuffing my face, but I remembered dessert! mmm pumpkin and apple pie <3

Grandma's beautiful garden.

Well I suppose it's time for sleep. Hope you all had a great weekend. :)

Thanksgiving morning

So I did it! I made pumpkin cupcakes! They are delish, and adorable and I will be bringing them to gramas this evening. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. I am especially because Philip is down <3 and currently just woke up! So were getting breakfast ready, mom always plans a special huge breakfast on every holiday. It's nice because the whole family isn't together very often. But anyways, here's how my cupcakes turned out!

My sisters insisted on making Pillsbury pumpkin cookies...but they are yummy!

Hope every one's weekend is going well!

Getting in the Halloween spirit

Today I stayed home in bed sick. This is unfortunate because me and Phil are really trying to save, and a days pay really makes an indent on my paycheck. I was hoping that maybe by around noon I would feel better, I felt worse. Slept most of the day away until the baby got antsy and decided to kick me every way I laid. So I decided to watch a movie- and 1 movie turned into 3. They were all Halloween movies, from wayyy back in the day. They may seem somewhat childish, but they put me in the Halloween spirit!

Today I watched Halloween Town I and II. Also, Double Double Toil and Trouble.

Maybe this weekend we can start decorating for Halloween! I saw a couple houses on my way home from work yesterday have decorated! Makes me so excited! I love when people go all out. My mom actually has a Halloween tree! But, I'm not sure how long it would last with 4 kittens and 4 cats running around the house, they would probably ruin it. We'll see. I hope you all have a good weekend! Mine is definitely going to be a busy one! Hope I'm feeling better to accomplish everything tomorrow. Goodnight blogland!

Thanksgiving cooking

My grandma has requested me to make something for your thanksgiving dinner. She wanted me to make cabbage rolls? Um... weird to go with a Thanksgiving dinner. So I suppose I will make some cabbage rolls for my grampa because I know he loves them. But I was thinking something sweet....I came across this recipe on joyofbaking.com for Pumpkin Cupcakes! YUM! So hopefully I have enough time to make these this weekend. They really do look delicious.

So here's the recipe for these cups of heaven:

What you will need:

Pumpkin Cupcakes:

1 1/2 cups (195 grams) all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3/4 cup (75 grams) solid packed, canned pumpkin puree

Cream Cheese Frosting:
4 ounces (113 grams) cream cheese, room temperature
2 tablespoons (25 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (175 grams) confectioners (powdered or icing) sugar, sifted
Garnish:
1 cup (110 grams) pecans or walnuts or English Toffee Bits

Pumpkin Cupcakes:  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). Place rack in the middle of the oven. Line 12 muffin cups with paper liners or spray each cup with a non stick vegetable spray.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, ground spices, and salt.
In the bowl of your electric mixer, or with a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla extract. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. With the mixer on low speed, alternately add the flour mixture and pumpkin puree, in three additions, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
Fill the muffin cups evenly with the batter using two spoons or an ice cream scoop. Place in the oven and bake for about 18 - 20 minutes, or until firm to the touch and a toothpick inserted in the center of one of the cupcakes comes out clean. Place on a wire rack to cool.

Cream Cheese Frosting: In the bowl of your electric mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the butter and beat until incorporated and smooth. Add the vanilla extract and confectioners sugar and beat until fluffy (2-3 minutes). Pipe or spread the frosting on the cupcakes. Sprinkle with toasted and chopped nuts or English Toffee Bits.
