Re-inventing Style

So I recently read a blog post from Dreams and Drifters that had truly inspired my style. A more edgy look with big show stopping accessories is my desire currently. While looking online I at forever 21 for a birthday present for my sister, I found a few pieces to fall in love with- and they were on sale! $5.99! hello must haves <3

Now not all of these pieces are 5 dollars, actually the two tops I fell in love with are sold out now! But I definitely feel inspired, and nothing makes me feel better than wearing a brand new outfit! Or even rekindle an old one.

What inspires you?

getting ready

So we went to Waterloo a few weeks ago, to get a few things ready, although I definitely don't have everything moved up yet, I still filled a few huge suitcases. I was especially excited about adding my touches to the kitchen and bathroom, I secretly bought everything purple (which Phil loves) for the bathroom, although it's not so secret anymore since I already decorated. And! in the kitchen the thousands of mushroom canisters I got from my thoughtful friend's mom (thank you Sarah Smith!)

Washing my millions of mushroom canisters :)

Noah's baptism is coming up, so after that I'm hoping to continue moving things up to Waterloo, we also have an appointment with the surgeon again next week, so hoping all goes well with that. Happy Monday everyone :)

.

Sorry for the late post, but I haven't had much inspiration these past couple of weeks. Not only do I feel like the worst mom in the world, because sometimes I can't control my child, but my grampa died, and I am having a really hard time, harder than I expected I would. It's the little things that get to me and start me on a crying spree, like yesterday I was eating spaghetti and me and my grampa are the only ones in the family that  would cut the noodles, everyone would make fun of us. Then I keep thinking, what's life going to be like without my grampa, him and my grama were the glue of the family, what kept us all together so it just makes me sad if anything ever happened to that. However, this last week we have all been surrounded by family day after day, and it helps alot, were keeping my grampa's memory alive and that makes me happy.

Anyways, hopefully get backing into the "posting motion" Happy Friday everyone.

Recipe: Dumplings

So I decided today to make a stew (first time ever) and gathering all my friends recipes I made my own version, one thing I love about stew is dumplings, my gramma makes them the best! I found a fool-proof recipe online it's so easy and only takes 10 mins! Although if you are cooking in a crock pot (which I did) it take about 20-25 mins. Click Here for the complete recipe.

What you will need:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 4tbsp butter - at room temperature
  • 4tsp baking powder
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1 cup of milk
Combine salt, baking powder and flour in a bowl, add butter, and slowly stir in milk- towards the end to mix everything well I used my hands, if you don't make sure the butter is evenly combined throughout.

Spoon in mixture teaspoon by teaspoon in crockpot, (make sure crockpot is on high) let cook for 20-25 mins, or if doing it in a saucepan 10 mins.

Alterations: We were completely out of milk, so I used cream, I filled half a cup with cream, and the rest water (mix), they turned out wonderful! :)

enjoy!

House Love

So recently I have been obsessed with buying the little touches to make our apartment seem like home, although I have not actually gone there yet to start decorating I have been picking up things here an there- obviously not breaking the bank with anything, so there just small touches that I think would make out place cute. I was browsing on Etsy this morning and found the most delicious furnishings! Had to share, they are hidden gems <3

This vase was the first gem I came across, I just love the texture and the earth tones!
I know, this is a little out there, but it reminds me of a 90's Hollywood house!
I fell in love with this piece, a bookshelf with a cottage sense.
This <3 truly lusting after, how brightly gorgeous?
Of course the pillow to match...
Hammocks are something I've always been in love with, the ultimate relaxing space!
This one is just gorgeous, love this orange colour!

Have you ever fallen in love with furniture?
