Retro Diner

Finally we are home! After a relaxing week at my parents house, of course after a insanely long drive home I do not feel like cooking so we went out! It's called Angel's Diner, we have been there before but only for breakfast (which is excellent) so we decided to try out the dinner specials. It is traditional diner/homestyle cooking- but with a twist, they add there very own spin on each dish.

The beautiful Marilyn, and the handsome Elvis.

Don't be fooled it's not your regular burger! There's a fried slice of ham, real cheddar cheese, and the burger itself is smother in BBQ sauce... amazing? I think so...
They are actually chicken fingers! They used tempura batter so they would fluff up and add and extra crisp.
Mom ordered a Greek salad, which she was was delish.
I got the grilled chicken sandwich, it came with bacon, Swiss cheese and it had a Dijon dressing (which I substituted for mayo)

It was fun, the pricing is reasonable, but they really spcialize in smoked meats, it comes the mojority of the menu, and every is fresh and cut right there, so if your ever in the neighborhood and come across an Angel's Diner- give it a go!

Some food for thought: La Roca

This past week my grandma took Ashley and I out for dinner at La Roca, the restaurant my mom works at- being she just started a few weeks ago I've never tried it before. Don't be under estimated about the look, the food is delicious, everything is fresh- cooked right on the spot. The specialize in traditional Italian cuisine, but they also have bar & grill favorites, since it was a hot summer day the 3 of us stuck to the favorites. I had chicken fingers and fries (of course), Ashley had a grilled chicken burger with sweet potato fries that looked insanely delish, and gramma had a hamburger- which see said was the best she ever had! Now my grandma is very picky when it comes to food, so for her to say that was really a compliment!

My mom also told me that every Tuesday night is Mexican night, when they have authentic Mexican food, and of course Margaritas! I am definitely going to go back for a Mexican night- maybe the next time I come down :)

Some Food for Thought

So a few days ago, a few girlfriends and I went out to this (new to me) restaurant call the Walkermole, it has Mexican style cuisine. Overall we had a good time the place was packed- the drinks AH- MAZING! they have a whole menu dedicated to tequila! and the margaritas actually taste like a margarita, I was thoroughly impressed.

First we had our appetizer, while slowly sipping our dangerously tequiliay (yes I made that word up) margaritas. We ordered Nachos, the dips it came with was a habanero garlic salsa- HOLY FRIGGIN HOT! a cactus salsa (my personal fav) and the black bean- which was also pretty tasty.

Then we got our entrees, this is mine, the chicken taco with tomato, avocado, onion, cheese, and lettuce with creme. I was not overly excited about my meal, I added the cactus salsa on top which was leftover from the app which made it more plentiful.
The lovely Punam ordered the burrito, which she says is pretty good, you can get any meat you want in it, she got the pulled pork which is interesting.
Then the lovely Vicki got Enchiladas which look amazing, she says they are delicious but need more creme- I think I might try this next time!
Overall the place had a good atmosphere, we sat on the patio (was such a gorgeous day) the drinks are amazing, the prices are fair (entrees run 12-14$) Drinks are anywhere from 6-9$ and the pitcher of margaritas is 40$- but serves 8. So it's definitely reasonably priced, and they do have vegetarian options. I would go there again- but for the drinks! <3
