Lodon Progress

This has been a crazy week! Sarah and I are venturing to London this weekend because Fanshawe is having their open house, so we figured we mise well set up appointments for apartment viewings while were at it. We have 5 apartment viewings between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday, then Sunday we have 3 more! thank god, all of he houses on Saturday are close. I seriously have no idea what I am doing when it comes to these things. I've never rented an apartment before, I've never lived on my own before, and my parents aren't even helping. So thankfull I have my wonderful Sarah Smith by my side, and my loving boyfriend Phil with me, I'm hoping with the 3 of us together, we are able to make a good enough decision when it comes to life changing things.

On a side note, at the open house, I am meeting with my Fashion coordinators for the program, I'm not sure what all will entail, BUT I'm assuming we will be going over what is to be expected of my new career path. I'm so excited!!! we also have mutual friends that live in London already, so we will be meeting up with them for dinner and drinks at the Mandarin! I must say, I have never eaten there before but I look on there website today, OMG food looks so amazing, it's a gorgeous Chinese buffet! so pumped for that, and I would kill for a long island ice tea, but I will indulge in 2 days- I will wait.

Last week Sarah and I got together, planning out everything we would need for our new place, I never realized but you need A LOT when you move out. I have been saving a few things here and there since I was little, but I will definitely need a lot more.. so HELLO Value Village!! there's nothing like a good Vintage buy, or DIY would work as well, I just don't have the time right now. Here are some things on Etsy I was looking at:

 hand painted vintage desk
 set of 4 flower mugs
 perching owl light switch cover
 glass bottle vase garland

Well my blog loves, I'm off to Mandi's to sew, have a goodnight!!!

Irish Dip

While down in Florida visiting family a few years back, my aunt was having a St.Patrick's Day party. My cousin Rebecca in the spirit of the holiday, made the most amazing warm dip I've ever tasted! Now, this dip does contain sour crout, and I know it has an acquired taste, but I have shared this recipe with friends that did not like sour crout, but loved this dip! So hear is the recipe, I hope you all love it as much as I do!

What you will need:
1 medium sized jar of sour crout
1/2lb of corned beef or pestrome
1 cup thousand island dressing
1 cup of grated swiss cheese
1 block of cream cheese

I usually make this dip in a crock pot, but a large pot will do as well. combine all ingredients in crock pot, and let it sit for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently (may take longer, it all depends how long it take for the cheese to melt and all the flavours combine)

server warm. you can server it with Melba toast, crackers, pita bread, corn chips...whatever you like!

enjoy!

Fashion Spotlight: Nasty Gal

While at work (and yes I am suppose to be working) but who can resist with such a crazed fashion world out there! how can I not go one day without at least-online browsing... Well welcome to my new guilty pleasure...NastyGal. While browsing I found these top 3 must haves:

1. Sprintime Anorak: Silky hooded blush anorak coat featuring drawstring ties at hood, waist and hem. Crop sleeves with stretch cuff, hip pockets. Double-breasted button and zip closures, partially lined.

2. Lorissa Spike Pump: Dangerously cool nude leather peep-toe pumps covered in gunmetal spikes and crystals at the heel.

3. ThunderBird Necklace: Long antiqued gold chain necklace featuring a graphic Native American thunderbird pendant.

Recipe of the day: S'more Cookies

I found this recipe on the blog: Baked to Perfection. I tried this recipe and loved it, but! the only suggestion I would use is when the cookies are done and out of the oven lightly press down each marshmallow on the cookie so the ingredients come together better :) enjoy!

What you will need:

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 dash of cinnamon
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups miniature chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
2 Hershey bars, chopped
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a medium bowl combine the flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking soda, salt, and dash of cinnamon. In a second larger bowl beat together the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Slowly beat in the flour mixture until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 8 minutes, and remove from the oven. Push 3 to 4 marshmallows and a few pieces of Hershey bar into each cookies. Return to the oven and bake an additional 3-4 minutes until fully cooked. Cool cookies on a wire rack.

Makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.
