Gettin in Shape!

So today is day 3 of the madness, dieting dieting dieting! Today Is also day 1 of workout- way intense when you haven't in a year!

On a good note I found a ton of recipes by Herbal Magic that will make the diet a bit more pleasurable (food wise) god knows I love my food! I found this awesome workout video by Denise Austin (love her workouts!) So I'd like to share with you all a recipe I tried today and a fool-proof workout that only takes 15 mins!

This workout video is great for cardio, and the second half is all working on hips, thighs, and buttocks. Usually what I try to do is do this 4 times a week, and in the middle (being Wednesday) I do something more relaxing, like stress free yoga, really communicate with my senses.

What you need:
½ cup fat-free mayonnaise
¼ tsp. garlic powder
2 regular pitas
5 oz. cooked chicken breast, cut into strips
1 cup lettuce, shredded
½ cup tomato, chopped
½ cup cucumber, peeled and chopped
¼ cup water, divided

Directions:
Combine mayonnaise and garlic powder. Open and separate each pita into 2 and spread mayonnaise mixture evenly on each round. Arrange chicken strips evenly down centres of pita round. Top evenly with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. Fold over left and right sides of pita rounds. Fold short sides over to form a rectangle. Coat a skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Place over medium-high heat until hot. Sprinkle 1 tsp. water in skillet. Place 1 pita, seam side down, into skillet; press firmly. Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly browned. Turn pita, press firmly, and cook 2 more minutes or until lightly browned. Repeat with remaining 3 pitas.

Serves four. One serving equals ¼ protein, ½ vegetable, 1 starch, and 1 free exchange.

Easter is a week and a half away, and I'm taking on the challenge! If you want to with me and want anymore information on what I'm doing leave a comment or email me :) Happy living!

Easter Cheer

Easter is coming up quick, and since it's Noah's first it has to be extra special. So mom dug out all the Easter decorations that we haven't used since I was little! and we did a little decorating today...

Unfortunately all these pretty decorations have not put me in the Easter spirit, all I can think about is Thursday, Noah's surgery. I hope everything goes well- any extras thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

On another note, have you started your Easter decor yet? I'd love to see your ideas :)

Summer's Past

It was so nice the past couple weeks, now all of a sudden we have fallen back into winter. And with the loss of the warm sunshine goes the loss of my energy- hello... I just want to cuddle back in bed! This new healthy me is going to be a challenge with such chilly weather, I am TOTALLY ready for SUMMER! I was just going through old pictures of some good times a few summer's back...

What are you dreaming of these days?
So lately I've been inspired to get back into shape- not only reclaiming my post-prego body, but to even drop and tone some more. So my goal is by Easter (which is 2 weeks away, lose at least 4 pounds. I've started the Herbal Magic diet again and I am increasing exercise in my daily schedule. For those of you who are curious as to the diet I will be on it's in my previous post HERE. Last time I tried to do this, I got pregnant a week later, well this time is not going to be the same, it's almost bikini season and I'm ready to take on the world!

Anyone up for the challenge?

Some Food for Thought

So a few days ago, a few girlfriends and I went out to this (new to me) restaurant call the Walkermole, it has Mexican style cuisine. Overall we had a good time the place was packed- the drinks AH- MAZING! they have a whole menu dedicated to tequila! and the margaritas actually taste like a margarita, I was thoroughly impressed.

First we had our appetizer, while slowly sipping our dangerously tequiliay (yes I made that word up) margaritas. We ordered Nachos, the dips it came with was a habanero garlic salsa- HOLY FRIGGIN HOT! a cactus salsa (my personal fav) and the black bean- which was also pretty tasty.

Then we got our entrees, this is mine, the chicken taco with tomato, avocado, onion, cheese, and lettuce with creme. I was not overly excited about my meal, I added the cactus salsa on top which was leftover from the app which made it more plentiful.
The lovely Punam ordered the burrito, which she says is pretty good, you can get any meat you want in it, she got the pulled pork which is interesting.
Then the lovely Vicki got Enchiladas which look amazing, she says they are delicious but need more creme- I think I might try this next time!
Overall the place had a good atmosphere, we sat on the patio (was such a gorgeous day) the drinks are amazing, the prices are fair (entrees run 12-14$) Drinks are anywhere from 6-9$ and the pitcher of margaritas is 40$- but serves 8. So it's definitely reasonably priced, and they do have vegetarian options. I would go there again- but for the drinks! <3

Have you eaten at any new restaurants recently?
