some silver lining

After all the trauma my poor baby has gone through, we brought him to the hospital for his checkup yesterday, and all in all he is doing much better. I don't know if I mentioned before, they put him on an inhaler, which has helped and enormous amount, and also he's on steroid medication to clean his airways, the doctor said he will start feeling better in a few days (which is is definitely getting there) and it should clear up in a week, but unfortunately his cough will linger on for some time afterwards.

As for his hernia, I am going to call his surgeon and see if he can be on a cancellation list, as it is much more serious now that the episodes are coming on more severe and often.

So Noah will always remain in my prayers- you can never have enough, and we will just have to wait this out- lots of sleepless nights.

BAH.

So yesterday was a nightmare. Another trip to the hospital with Noah bird. He started getting more congested so we brought him to the walk-in clinic yesterday morning, he said he had bronchitis and put him on antibiotics, then later that day he started crying harder and harder and his hernia popped out again so we had to rush him to the hospital. Only it was slightly different this time- seemed like the doctors actually cared, and this doctor knew what to do, he pushed his hernia back in Noah was in so much pain and screamed bloody murder he whole time. It was completely heart wrenching. Afterwards the doctor ordered x-rays on his chest and tummy, everything seemed OK, he said his right ventricle was slightly inflamed but nothing to worry about, after that he has some test done for some virus where they had to put a tube up his nose. My poor little guy, he goes through so much and it kills me I can't help him in anyway. It really seems like no one understands or takes it as seriously as it is, starting to really bother me. Well I just needed to get that off my chest. I'm hoping this cough clears up and goes away soon so we can all get some rest.

bits & peices

It's a gloomy Friday afternoon. The snow turned into a cold rain now it's cold and damp. Me and Noah are just staying in today- well maybe meeting up with Melissa later on today- SO UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED SHE'S HOME!!! I missed her so, and I'm so excited that Noah is going to meet his best friend Logan (Melissa's boy) they will have so much fun together, and we definitely plan on playing miniature vogue with the children, her sister is down too and she has 3 beautiful children that I'm also ecstatic for Noah to meet. My poor little man is sick, he had his shots a couple days ago and was already starting to come down with a bad cold, I think the shots made it worse he's all congested and has a really bad hoarse cough. Breaks my heart.

These are my new kitchen pieces, I've slowly been setting up the apartment (like I've mentioned before) These are just a few cute things that brighten up our non so cheerful kitchen. On a side note- you're never going to guess what happened to me yesterday, I finally decide to bring my car in for an oil change and semi-annual inspection- which I've been putting off for months and the lady called me yesterday saying the hoist broke while my car was up in the air! My car is fine thankfully, but it has been stuck in the air for 2 days because she couldn't get anyone to come and fix it on such short notice. Then of course once they do I receive another call saying I need my tire replaced because there is an unfix-able hole. Just my luck I suppose.
Anyways, those were just some pictures that have been collecting on my camera for some time now. Hope you all have a god weekend :)

Southern Touches

So recently being completely obsessed with home decor, I was gazing through a Victorian magazine at my grandmas and found some pretty awesome ads at the back I knew I had to check out. The first one is called The Southern Home. It reminds me of how home decor would look in the south (hence the name) and I absolutely love the style, they have some insanely gorgeous pieces- a little on a pricey side, but so worth it. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Pillows! I think a interesting pillow can change the look of any room, aren't these cool?

I completely fell in love with their furniture, it's so unique and absolutely stunning. It was hard to chose  my favorites because I loved them all.

Music's past:VII

One more post. This is a song- going way back to grade school again, when Britney Spears was still innocent and pure. This song in-particular Mandi will remember. We had to come up with a dance for dance class at school, we were going to do "Spiderwebs" by No Doubt but the teachers said it was "inappropriate" :s . So we chose "Sometimes" by Britney Spears, I really wish that dance was filmed- we had some pretty cool moves.

Noah's Baptism

Music's Past: VI

These are going way back to my childhood years again. They actually go back to the times I was just starting to grow up- you know, interested in boys- trying to impress, "attempting to dance" - learning those "cool moves", don't forget slow dancing for the first time, where your goal for the entire night was try to with an actual boy! So here are some of my favourites from yesteryear's.

Saturday Night
Cha Cha Slide of course!
Slow it down a bit with Amazed by Lonestar

Remember yet? Don't forget to share you memories in the comment section! Love the hear them!

Music's past: IV

This one came out a few years back, it has been on my blog once before, we have Only Girl by Rhianna. The memory that attaches it this song is with my cousin Ashley at one of the scrapbooking crops we attend. You see, the ladies that attend these scrapbooking crops are typical housewives that when looking at them you think they are probably not the "type"of person to listen to Rhianna- let alone start singing alone to the song. With this one, the whole weekend crop- 72 hours, they were debating one line in the song, the very first one- they came up with so many lines for this song me and Ashley couldn't help but to laugh. Line: I want you to love me like a ___________, the answers that came up was pot pie, hot pie, some did say hot ride (which is the correct answer!)

So we weren't making fun of these housewives, believe me I am not the  one to get lyrics right! Half the time I make them up myself- but the beauty with that is I only sing to Noah and he doesn't care!

Have a lovely day :)

Music's Past: III

Ahhh my punk days- if you can even call it that! When those baggy jeans, spiked cuffs, and chains used to be all the rage- in my crowd at least. Spending countless hours at the skatepark (learning how to skateboard) but having the most fun making new friends and rekindling old friendships. So for our third music day, we have Avril Lavigne with Skater Boy.

Common now, I don't care where in the world you are I know you thought this song was cool! Don't even try to tell me you didn't know every lyric either!

Any Neil Diamond closet fans out there?

Music's Past: I

SO I'm so excited about these next few posts, over the next week (hopefully I have the time) I will be posting songs and bands that bring back memories! "the good old days." Lately I've just been thinking about my life and how times have changed since I was a little girl- even how the music has changed, and like I've said before- with every song comes a memory so to each song I will share a memory.

First off, a band any girl growing up in the 90's would know, the infamous "Spice Girls!" I'm going to share 2 songs with you, so comes 2 memories.

Stop- I remember way back in grade school, I had the most wonderful birthday party themed as the Titanic. So me and my best girlfriends when out on my Grandparents friends yacht and danced the day away- I actually have a home movie of that day and us all dancing to this song.

Next we have Viva Forever, where to finish off our 8th grade year we all performed in the talent show -at this time Spice Girls were NOT popular anymore- we were just super cool obviously.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's picks!

Summers Past...

A couple days ago, while driving in my parents car they were playing an old CD of mine from a few summers back- which just so happened to be one of the best summers of my life! This is a toast to Miss Felicia and the many road trips <3 It's amazing how something as small as a song can bring back a whirl wind of memories- good or bad. Maybe you have some memories with these songs?

Anyways, those were obviously just a couple of them. They make me happy, and bring me to a whole new world when I hear them. Do you ever feel this way with a song?

bits & Peices

Valentines Day turned out pretty good, even if Phil wasn't home. My Valentine was Noah, the best of all! But I must say, Phil sent me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, so romantic, I never had any flowers delivered to me before! Mom and I spent most of the day shopping for a few V-day things and Noah's baptism (on Sunday). After that we just went to Grandma's and watched a movie: Dream House, it was pretty good, but very confusing at times- a movie full of twists.

Today has just been a day to catching up on much needed housework! The laundry kids go through is insane! Also, my little not so much of a peanut anymore, has grown out of all his new born clothes, it's sad, I can't believe how much he's grown in just a matter of 2 weeks! So I went digging through all the clothes we received from my shower to pick out 3 month clothing- which he almost fits into, but you don't see 2 month clothing anywhere! So that is what today has consisted of, later mom promised we would watch Breaking Dawn, which I am such a Twilight fan- so I'm excited!

How was your Valentines Day?

V-day blues?

There are many Valentines days that have gone by where I didn't have that "someone special" to share it with. The truth is, who cares really? who says you can't spend v-day with the person you love the most? Whether it be your children, you friends, you mom, or the best of all YOU! Go ahead, buy yourself a box of chocolates, have flowers delivered to your work, stay at home and watch slasher movies! Just feel the LOVE. Even if you spend v-day with the "special someone" guys don't always get it right? We're lucky if they remember sometimes! Why not indulge in that gorgeous pair of shoes you've had your eye on. Valentine's day just gives us a reason to spoil ourselves and the ones we love!

So happy Valentines Day from me to you <3

Back on Track

I am re-inventing the "healthy me." Getting back into the swings of things from after having Noah, really has me wanting to get healthy and fit. I know I shouldn't go into hardcore "working out" right away, so I'm going to start slowly, taking Noah for walks (in his stroller) on warm days, and running up and down the stairs about 2 times, will really work out some good muscles to get toned again! My goal? FIT INTO MY JEANS! I must say each week I'm losing more and more weight- slowly. It's kinda cool, because slowly I'm fitting back into my clothes, so it feels like each week I have a new wardrobe!

On another note, Lent is coming up, so I've been thinking what to give up. Every year it's pretty much the same thing, but I don't always follow through. This year, it will be all fast food, I can't even really call it food anyways it's so bad for you! Also, really starting to get exercise into my daily routines- that's a MUST.

Have you thought of different ways than a "crash diet" to become healthy or thin?

Firework

I'm sure you've heard this song a million times, and you may or may not like it, at first I didn't even like it that much, until I saw the music video, and learned the message she's trying to get across it's actually pretty amazing and I would welcome all of you to watch it :)

Fashion Spotlight (Vintage) : TUNNEL VISION

Today I stumbled across the most wonderful vintage online shop, that is reasonably priced. You can never have too much vintage, but vintage at it's best I believe is piecing it with a great modern look. Here's just some awesome pieces I've come to admire.

My favorite is the gorgeous vintage jewelry. Are you lovin' the VINTAGE? Check out Tunnel Vision.
